Shortly after completing his Bachelor degree from Arizona State University in 1985, Jim moved back to his native Las Vegas.

Jim gained valuable experience in the design and construction of large complex projects as a project coordinator for the Mirage Casino and Resort. The experience proved very valuable in resolving design and construction challenges, and also helped him discover where his true passion lies; working directly with clients to bring their projects to reality.

In 1991, just as Las Vegas was booming, Jim founded JVC Architects, a firm focused on the buildings a community needs for its residents, including schools, offices, medical facilities, churches, community centers, and other building types that make a city home.

The foundation of the practice is built around direct and personal involvement with clients. Projects often begin with coordinating outreach meetings to the community base of the project, which may be a church group, parents of school children, students, or neighbors.

This approach has proved successful and not only helps provide the most focused solution, it also facilitates community ownership of the project. The resulting architectural building becomes a direct reflection of the clients' aspirations and their contribution to the community.

As a standard, JVC Architects strives for design that is integrated and appropriate to the site and environment. Buildings are designed to be sustainable in terms of energy and materials, as well as in longevity. Jim continues to bring innovative solutions to his designs as he strives to meet clients' needs with the final result being a building that is durable, adaptable, and beautiful.
